Summer employment opportunities will be available for teens at the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program Job Fair.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Evanston Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave.
The City and local businesses will offer teens a variety of full- and part-time jobs, such as office assistants, camp counselors, custodians, and health and inclusion aides, as well as field, production and program assistants.
Additionally, some teens are assigned to a Community Service Team of 30-40 youth. This group is often referred to as the “Green Team” and performs tasks that include cleaning parkways, alleys, traffic calming circles and some parks. There is also a paint crew that will take on such projects as painting traffic signals and boxes.
At the Job Fair, teens age 14-18 who attend an Evanston school can meet and interview with employers who have jobs available. Teens should come dressed appropriately for a successful interview. For more information, call the City’s Community Relations Division at 847-866-2976.
