The YWCA Evanston/North Shore continues its equity summit today after unveiling a State of Equity in Evanston report at an opening session Wednesday evening.

The report displays maps showing breakdowns by census tract of per-capita income and the share of non-white residents in the city along with numbers showing disparities in health insurance coverage, life expectancy, police stops and high-interest loan rates.

It calls for actions to end gender-based violence, ensure access to quality healthcare, end racial pofiling and the criminalization of people of color and to ensure pay equity and affordable housing.

The conference sessions today are being held at Beth Emet synagogue, 1224 Dempster St.
