Cerqua Rivera Dance Theater Program B: Root & Place Between Earth and Sky. In the second of Cerqua Rivera Dance Theater’s performances, the company will perform two world premieres: “Root” and “Place Between Earth and Sky.”

“Root” explores a modern African American experience with African movement and rhythms. “Place Between Earth and Sky,” by choreographer Shannon Alvis and Grammy nominated composer Clarice Assad, is inspired by Alvis’s family heritage and Native American myth. Internationally renowned composer Assad weaves a lyrical, evocative soundtrack you won’t want to miss.
