Evanston’s 2016 Starlight Movies in the Park series begins on Thursday, July 21, with a special showing of The Good Dinosaur by Northwestern Athletics at Ryan Field, located at 1501 Central St.

Gates will open at 6:15 p.m. for a 7 p.m. showing on the football field video board. Parking and admission are free. Community members should enter Ryan Field through Gate K in the southwest corner of the stadium.

Complimentary popcorn and Coca-Cola beverages (while supplies last) will be provided. Additional refreshments will be available for purchase. Blankets will be allowed on the playing surface but chairs are prohibited in order to protect the grass.

In the event of inclement weather, the movie will be moved to Welsh-Ryan Arena, located north of Ryan Field.

Evanston’s Starlight Movies in the Park series, presented by the City’s Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department, continues through Saturday, Aug. 20, and will feature eight movies at locations throughout the city:

Thursday, July 21 – The Good Dinosaur, Ryan Field, 1501 Central St.
Saturday, July 30 – Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Brummel Park, Brummel St. at Elmwood Ave.
Tuesday, August 2 – Inside Out, Penny Park, Lake St. at Ashland Ave.
Saturday, August 6 – West Side Story, Dawes Park, Sheridan Rd. at Church St.
Tuesday, August 9 – 42, Twiggs Park, Dodge Ave. at Simpson St.
Saturday, August 13 – Dreamgirls, Mason Park, Church St. at Florence Ave.
Tuesday, August 16 – Hook, Bent Park, Central St. at Cowper Ave.
Saturday, August 20 – The Wiz, James Park, Dodge Ave. at Mulford St.

With the exception of the July 21 event, all movies will begin at dusk. Admission is free. Movies will be canceled in the event of inclement weather, with the exception of the July 21 event.
