Evanston scored 4 times in the 3rd and held off a Maine West rally to defeat the Warriors 4-3 in a cross-conference showdown game.

The Kits only had 3 hits but were able to score 4 times in the 3rd on two of those hits.

Mia Delgado led off the inning with a hard single to left.  He then stole second, and then third and scored on an overthrow.  The Kits then worked 3 straight walks before Ameer Cannon delivered a 2 run single.  Trevor Forde then grounded out to drive in the 4th run.

Max Siedlecki started for Evanston and pitched shutout ball through 4 innings.  He gave up 3 runs in the 5th before being relieved by Jack Anderson who got a ground out to 3rd base to end the inning with runners on 1st and 2nd.

Anderson pitched a scoreless 6th and 7th.  The 6th ended on a double-play on a 1st and 3rd steal situation.  The Maine West batter struck out while the runner on 1st stole second.  Forde, the catcher, threw the ball through to 2nd where Ameer Cannon recieved the throw and delivered a perfect strike back to Forde to nab the runner from 3rd at the plate.

Maine West got 2 seeing eye singles in the 7th but Anderson got a ground ball to Cannon at short to end the game.

Anderson earned his 5th save of the season with Siedlecki getting the win.

Evanston moves to 19-11 and finishes 10-7 in the CSL.

The Wildkits play their final regular season game at home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. against Lake Zurich.
