A 24-year-old Skokie man, sitting in a rental car in the 2100 block of Darrow Avenue, was shot in the right wrist at about 1:09 a.m.  today, according to Evanston police.

The victim transported himself to the emergency room at Evanston Hospital, where he was treated for his wound, according to Cmdr. Joseph Dugan.

The victim told police he was sitting in a car when someone “came out of nowhere” and began shooting at him. He was struck in the right wrist, and his injury is not considered life-threatening.

Dugan said that officers returned to the crime scene and recovered six spent 9 mm and 40-caliber shell casings. They also found several bullet holes in two sides of the rental car.
