Evanston police report thieves tried to steal four cars and succeeded in making off with two of them.

A silver 2014 Kia Soul was taken from the 200 block of South Boulevard. When recovered in Chicago, it had a broken window an a peeled steering column.

A red and black 2024 Honda Accord, stolen from the 600 block of Elmwood Avenue while its owner was making a delivery, was also recovered in Chicago.

Thieves broke windows and peeled the steering columns of a blue 2021 Hyundai Sonata in the 1700 block of Howard Street and a grey 2017 Hyundai Tucson in the 2100 block of Sherman Avenue but didn’t managed drive either of those cars away.

Shoplifters stole clothing from the Target on Howard, and alcohol from the downtown Target and the Walgreens on Chicago Avenue.

Police made four arrests, including two for domestic battery.
