The CTA is scheduled to start work on Monday, Sept. 12, to repair the embankment wall along Chicago Avenue from Madison Street to South Boulevard in Evanston.

It’s part of a larger, $10.3 million project that also involves replacing Purple Line viaducts at Grove, Dempster and Greenleaf Streets in Evanston.

The retaining wall work is expected to continue until Oct. 23.

During the project the outer southbound lane of Chicago Avenue through the construction area will be closed, but one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open.

Persons with questions about the project can call Pelayo Enerio “Jhun,” the city’s permits engineer, at 311.
