The Chicago Transit Authority’s Holiday Train makes its last runs of the season through Evanston on Tuesday.

The outside of the six-car train is decorated with thousands of holiday lights and the interior has more lights plus bows, garland and hand poles wrapped to look like candy canes.

Santa’s helpers pass out candy canes on the train and Santa himself waves to the boarding passengers from his sleigh on an open-air flatcar that carries his reindeer and decorated holiday trees.

The train will pass through Evanston twice in each direction between 3:42 and 6:40 p.m. Schedule details are available here.

Normal CTA fares apply to ride the train.
