Here’s a recap of our live coverage of Monday’s Evanston City Council Administration and Public Works Committee meeting.

The meeting started at 4:30 p.m. (Evanston Now got to the meeting late because of the NU encampment story update. So we are picking it up in the middle.)

A13 – Change order to Civic Center relocation feasibility study.

Committee votes to amend the proposal to add a community survey to the project.

Approved unanimously.

A16 – Telecommunications agreement with NU

Approved unanimously.

A17 – Agreement with IDOT on street patching

Approved unanimously.

Off agenda … comment from AFSCME rep

Eileen O’Neill, local AFSCME president, says there are problems in public works.

Says department not honoring seniority and other rights. Includes standby pay and other issues.

Says injuries doubled in the Public Works Department in 2023 and appears to be doubling again so far this year.

Meeting adjourned at 5:12 p.m.

City Council to start 5:20 p.m.
