Evanston police charged three people with illegal possession of cannabis in a car early Sunday morning after a traffic stop at Asbury Avenue and Church Street.

Two of those arrested are Skokie residents, the third lives in Evanston.

Police also report that somebody damaged the tires on two city vehicles parked on the street outside the police station in an incident that was discovered Saturday morning.

A 2023 gray Nissan Rogue was stolen from the 2200 block of Noyes and a would-be thief damaged the steering column of a 2018 Hyundai near the intersection of Brummel and Callan.

Catalytic converters were taken from a 2008 Honda parked in the 700 block of Dodge and a 2005 Honda parked in the 1300 block of Oak.
