Evanston police say the owner of a 2018 Chevrolet returned to his unlocked car Monday morning in the 1200 block of Hinman Avenue to fined a burglar had stolen tools from it.
Police also report a residential burglary in the 500 block of Michigan Avenue and a wallet taken from a locked locker at a gym in the 2400 block of Main Street.
Vandals broke glass in the rear door of a home in the 1400 block of Simpson Street and the front window of a restaurant in the 600 block of Howard Street.
Police report five arrests — including an Evanston man charged with domestic battery. One Chicago man was charged with assault, and another man with battery.
