Evanston fire units have now left the scene of  an explosion in an electrical transformer vault that happened about 10:40 this morning near the intersection of Lake Street and Dodge Avenue.

Traffic was detoured around the scene for about 90 minutes, but both streets have now been reopened and CTA buses are running their normal routes through the area again.

Commonwealth Edison crews are still on the scene and are expected to be there for a while yet cleaning up after the blast.

ComEd says power is back on now to customers who were blacked out by the explosion.
