City officials say Evanston got about two inches of snow overnight, but another couple of inches is expected by Tuesday morning.

James Maiworm of the city’s Public Works Agency says snow and flurries will continue until around 10 a.m. today before tapering off.

Then a lull in the snow is expected until lake effect snow begins falling about 10 p.m. tonight.

Maiworm says that as of 8 a.m. crews had plowed and salted the main roads in Evanston and they’re now working on residential side streets. Additional crews are working on city-maintained sidewalks and parking lots.
