snow-plow

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Cook County effective from 3 p.m. until midnight tonight.

Rain is expected to chainge to snow by late this afternoon and continue through the evening.

Snow accumpulations are expected to vary widely — with up to 3 to 5 inches expected in northern Cook County, with much less falling farther to the south.

The weather service says snow may be heavy at times, causing hazardous travel conditions and that the high water content of the snow will mean people with health concerns should use caution when shoveling.
